Tall Ships visit Channel Islands

Once a year the tall ships come to visit Channel Islands. We were covering Station 53 in Port Hueneme, our former station and we were able to take a look at the ships. Click on any image to enlarge the view!

Corral Incident Malibu Nov 24, 25, 26, 2007

On November 4, 2007 we got the early morning wake up call for a fire in Malibu ... Our first assignment was to go up Latigo Canyon. After just starting our climb we were literally run out by the fire. All five of the engines in our Strike Team (5 engines plus the Battalion Chief's suburban) had to "somehow" turn around and get back down to PCH (Pacific Coast Hwy). Latigo is a very narrow road and it was a challenge to say the least! We were assigned to structure protection just off PCH and were there for the first day.
